In certain projects, image-making ceases to be a one-off resource and becomes part of the brand’s architecture. It is not just about producing photographs, but about defining a visual system capable of sustaining the creative narrative of a collection over time and across multiple contexts.

The collaboration with Jantaminiau is based on this premise. A collection with a strong formal and conceptual identity requires a visual approach that does not oversimplify, impose an external aesthetic, or dilute the design in favor of the image. Here, photography functions as a tool of translation, not as an ornamental layer.

From the outset, the fashion photography was conceived with a strategic perspective: to generate a consistent, recognizable, and flexible visual archive, capable of existing within editorial, commercial, and presentation contexts without losing coherence.

The challenge of translating design complexity

When design operates through construction, volume, and materiality, the challenge is not spectacle, but control. Every visual decision has a direct impact on how the garment is perceived and, by extension, the brand itself.

The main challenge was to maintain a clear reading of pieces with a strong formal presence, while avoiding:

  • Over-stylization that distorts the garment.

  • Excessive neutrality that strips it of intention.

  • Visual fragmentation across different types of imagery.

The goal was not to resolve a single striking image, but to build visual continuity, where each photograph made sense on its own and as part of a whole. A constant balance between restraint and expression.

Building a visual concept before shooting

Pre-production and creative direction were approached as a phase of strategic definition, not merely an operational step. Before entering the set, a visual framework was established that allowed for working across different registers without losing identity.

Key decisions were made around:

  • The relationship between garment, body, and space.

  • The use of color as a structural element, not a decorative one.

  • Lighting as a tool for clarity and reading, not for dramatization.

Rather than thinking in terms of individual images, a modular visual language was designed—capable of adapting to different needs without requiring later reinterpretation. This approach enabled a fluid and highly controlled production process.

From plan to set: materializing the concept

The production was developed from a logic of creative efficiency, where each block had a clear function within the overall visual system.

A complete reading of the garment

Static 360° model shots respond to the need for a direct, interference-free reading. This type of image makes it possible to analyze proportions, structure, and garment behavior from all angles, while maintaining an active neutrality that does not compete with the design.

Here, direction focuses on controlling gesture, posture, and consistency between shots, ensuring a precise and homogeneous reading.

Precision and detail

The invisible mannequin and detail photography block operates through subtraction. The body is removed so the garment can speak for itself, and distractions are eliminated so attention is focused on construction, finishes, and materiality.

Detail images do not function as supporting elements, but as pieces with their own presence within the archive, designed to reinforce the narrative of quality and technical complexity.

Movement and expression

Working with the model in motion introduces a different layer of interpretation. Here, the garment is activated, responds to gesture, and generates a more editorial narrative. It is not about gratuitous dynamism, but about observing how the design behaves in action.

The series with a red background acts as a visual counterpoint within the overall set. Color functions as an element of controlled tension, adding contrast and expanding the visual spectrum without breaking the overall coherence of the archive.

Where the image finds its balance

Each image was treated with respect for its role within the global visual system.

The work focused on:

  • Precise and consistent color adjustment.

  • Control of texture and material.

  • Clean definition of silhouettes.

  • Cohesion between technical and editorial registers.

A restrained post-production approach, designed to sustain the image over time and avoid ephemeral or overly stylized solutions.

A coherent and versatile visual archive

The result is a broad, structured, and strategic visual archive, designed to respond to different needs without losing identity. Material that allows the brand to move confidently across multiple contexts while maintaining a clear and recognizable visual voice.

More than a collection of images, the project creates a solid visual foundation on which to build communication, presentation, and brand archiving.

When process and image align

This project confirms a fundamental idea: when imagery is conceived from the process—not only from the final result—it becomes a positioning tool. In productions of this level, the value lies not in immediate impact, but in coherence, discernment, and the ability to anticipate.

Image-making, understood as an extension of design, ceases to be a mere medium and becomes part of the brand’s creative discourse.
